1.  REGISTRATION

A) ICAEW student registration

You need to register with ICAEW for a student account. Upon registration, you will be given a student number. This number is needed when you apply for an examination with ICAEW. We also need this student number when we place an order for your ebook. Please provide us with your ICAEW student number when you have it.

B) Registration with City Academy

• Create your student portal account at here
• If you are an existing student of another education institution, you may want to use your personal email address. After setting up the student portal account, do check your inbox and junk box for the confirmation email from City Academy. Your email address is your login ID and password. Do remember to change it under Settings.
• A student portal will be created for you to view recordings of lectures, access assignments and marked mock exams. For some courses, pre-recorded videos are available.
• It is important that access to your study resources are not shared with friends or persons not registered on the courses. If you share with other users, the system will detect multiple IPs addresses and flag an error 503 – too many IPs used. This will cause your access to be shut down.

C) When should I register? 

      Generally, a student should try to register at least 3-4 months BEFORE the start of the course. There are various reasons for this: 

       a)  The courses are short and you may not have adequate time to prepare for the examination if it is just based on the duration of the course; 

       b)  There are pre-recorded lessons  for the following courses: 

             i. Corporate Reporting – 7 pre-recorded sessions before the start of the course; 

            ii. FAR – 8 pre-recorded sessions before the start of the course; 

           iii.  TC – 6 pre-recorded sessions before the start of the course; 

             You will want to register early as you will be given access to these pre-recorded lessons on the student portal.  

           E-books from ICAEW and BPP course notes will also be made available to you at the end of the month of registration. You can use the pre-recorded videos and the learning material to start preparing for the examination as soon as possible. 

c) Late registration :  if you register within 2 weeks before the commencement, we may not be able to place the order of ICAEW Learning Material for  you.  You may have to order directly from ICAEW.

d) Enrolment of course and deferment: Students who register for the bundle subjects must take them within 1 year of the first course. If for personal reasons, a student who wishes to defer the second course beyond the 1year time period, should write to City Academy (enquiry@cityacademy.sg) stating the new date for the second course and giving the reason for the deferment.

2) ICAEW regulations on examination

Examination rules

• Only 4 attempts for each subject at the CFAB and PROFESSIONAL levels. Unlimited attempts for Advanced levels subjects;
• It is not an attempt when any one of the following event occurs:

(a) the student enters for an assessment and is absent;

(b) the student enters for an assessment and withdraws prior to the assessment;

(c) an assessment cannot be completed and the result determined due to system failure or an                             exceptional event.

(d) an assessment is deemed void by the Committee.

• For CFAB STUDENTS You can access your results 24 hours after your exam via your online training file by selecting the 'Examinations' tab. You have a maximum of 4 attempts for each subject . For CFAB regulations please go to https://www.icaew.com/regulation/qualifications/cfab-regulations
• For PROFESSIONAL LEVEL students, you have a maximum of 4 attempts for each subject.
• For ADVANCED LEVEL students, there is no limit on the number of attempts for each subject.

B)  Examination Time Tables

•   For CFAB: Examination are available on demand.
•   For Professional Level: Examinations are available 4 times a year. (Quarter 1,2,3,and 4)
•   For Advanced Level: Examinations are available 2 times per year. (Quarter 2 and 4.)

2) ACCA Exemptions

ACCA Affiliates who have passed the relevant subjects, AAA, ATX and AAA qualify for 12 subject’s          exemption. Only 3 advanced subjects remain to be taken: Corporate Reporting, Strategic Business            Management and Advanced Case Study.

CONDITIONS

1. At least 2 students to apply and full enrolment for both subjects must be made at the point of registration.
2. COURSE schedules and time-table for 2023 will be provided on the City Academy website
3. Examination may be taken over 2 separate examinations within 12 months
4. Validity of promotion is from 1 January 2023 to 30 November 2023
5. City Academy reserves the right to defer courses and when such event occurs City Academy will waive condition 3 above.

TC & BPT Bundled Promotion (30% Discount on the Course Fee component)

CONDITIONS

1. At least 2 students to apply and full enrolment for both subjects must be made at the point of registration.

3. Examination may be taken over 2 separate examinations within 12 months
